The Las Vegas Food Guide to Cinco de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. | By Matt Villano | April 19, 2022 (Updated April 13, 2023)

Las Vegas knows how to party, which means celebrations on big holidays are especially grand. Such is the case on Cinco de Mayo, when restaurants all over town honor the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over France and pull out all the stops for memorable festivities that are second-to-none. Our favorite ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Las Vegas include:

  • Feasting on authentic fare: Sit down to traditional Mexican dishes and refreshing margaritas

  • Dancing the night away: Celebrate with live music performances and exclusive DJ sets

  • Partying alfresco: Enjoy the warmth of Sin City on some of the city’s lavish open-air patios

Cheers and ambiance

What’s better than one party? Two, of course! This year, the Bar at Commons Club at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Curio Collection by Hilton will be combining Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby weekend for an epic “Cinco de Derby” fiesta presented by Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Herradura Tequila.

Start the party on Friday with Cinco de Mayo handcrafted Herradura cocktails while enjoying festive beats from the DJ in the lounge. On Saturday, the Bar at Commons Club will be offering curated Woodford reserve cocktails — including one of the best mint juleps in Las Vegas — from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the Kentucky Derby broadcast.

Viva Mexico

Meanwhile, Resorts World Las Vegas' Mexican restaurant ¡Viva! by Ray Garcia, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a mariachi band early in the evening followed by a live DJ set from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The vibrant restaurant rooted in flavorful creativity and passion is partnering with Casamigos Tequilla to curate a featured menu available through the weekend.

Guests can also enjoy a fun party vibe on the open-air patio with a Casamigos drink cart so you can raise your glass and say cheers to Cinco de Mayo in style.

Keep the fiesta going

There’s always action in downtown Las Vegas, and Cinco de Mayo is no exception. From club and bar crawls to pool parties, dancing and concerts, Sin City offers a good time around every corner.

At Lucky Day, an intimate tequila and mezcal cantina adorned to the hilt with brightly colored Mexican artwork and trinkets, patrons can enjoy an extensive cocktail menu under a canopy of 15,000 LED lights. Housemade tortilla chips and salsa fresca compliment the signature cocktails and Latin house DJs set the mood.

Another classic Vegas spot to sip margaritas and dance the night away is Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. Whether you’re looking for signature Buffet tunes — which play continually throughout the restaurant — or live music on a dance floor, Margaritaville has indoor and outdoor space to dance the night away, including a large balcony overlooking the Strip.

Las Vegas is always a party, but it’s a true fiesta on Cinco de Mayo — one to be experienced and remembered.
